I haven’t done a Label Spotlight since I eulogized Sunshine, Ltd. last June, so I was well overdue for one. Shelter Press is already starting this year off strong with records from Bulbs, Joshua Bonnetta, and an insanely amazing collaboration between Kassel Jaeger, Stephan Mathieu, & Akira Rabelais (which I couldn’t play for you just yet, sorry) and since the label is still kinda new (barely 5 years old) and perhaps a bit under-represented, they seemed like a perfect candidate.
Shelter Press is run by Félicia Atkinson & Bartolomé Sanson, two truly awesome people, and they publish books as well as records. Their discography is killer, and while the music is all you could ever want, I implore you to investigate their publications as well. Everything is 100%.
